Buying a rabbit
A $50 deposit reserves a rabbit and comes off the price. Reservations open at four weeks old. Before that, a baby's sex and color are still a guess, and I won't take money for a guess.
Change your mind before pickup? The $50 moves to another rabbit. Or to the next litter. It isn't refunded, because reserving a rabbit means turning other people away. Your first switch is free. After that, each switch is $25.
Three things get the $50 back, no argument.
- The rabbit gets ill or doesn't make it while still in my care.
- I'm the one who cancels, for any reason.
- The rabbit isn't what I told you it was. Wrong sex, a color clearly different from the listing, not the rabbit you reserved, or it fails the health check at pickup.
Change your mind at pickup? You get the whole $50 back. That's for the first rabbit you reserve. If you've switched rabbits before, we settle on what it cost me, fair to both of us.
Pickup is when the rabbit is ready, and eight weeks is what I aim for. Off milk and eating hay and pellets alone, eating and drinking well for a week or more, holding weight, nothing wrong. We go through the health check together at pickup: ears, teeth, eyes, weight and coat.
Free weekend delivery anywhere in Arizona. A $50 deposit books the trip. I bring others along, so you can still switch when you meet them, and your first switch is free. Want it on a day you pick? Once the rabbit is ready, I'll drive it to you that day, for a price we agree on first, fair to both of us. A delivery goes the same way as a pickup: the health check together, then anything still owed. Heat is the one thing I'm firm about: if a trip isn't safe on the day, we move it.
You leave with their food, the care sheet and my number. Two weeks of the food they're already eating, a written care sheet with the signs that mean call a vet today, the names of Tucson vets who treat rabbits, and my number for as long as you have the rabbit. No question limit, no expiry.
Pay by Zelle, Apple Pay or cash. The deposit reserves the rabbit. Pay the rest when you pick it up, or on a payment plan. Cash is easiest at pickup. Every payment gets a receipt from me, deposit or balance, in writing.
You can buy on a payment plan. If paying all at once is hard, that's what it's for: you pay over time and still take your rabbit home. Text or call me, and we'll work out a plan that fits you.
Once a rabbit goes home, the sale is final. If it simply isn't working out, call me. That isn't a refund, but it isn't the end of it either. I'd rather help you find it the right home than have it stay somewhere it isn't wanted.
Two going home together: 20% off the second. The second is whichever costs less, same litter or not. It also applies if you buy the second, or put a $50 deposit on it, within 48 hours of the first one going home. A $50 deposit on the second keeps the pair price for a month; another $50 keeps it going, and every $50 comes off the price. Switching to a different rabbit is free once, and a switch doesn't extend the month.
10% off for military and first responders. That includes police and firefighters. Say so when you get in touch.
Boarding is for rabbits I've bred, only. One rabbit is $20 a day, dropping to $15 a day after the first week. A bonded pair sharing a pen is $30 a day, dropping to $22. Stays of up to three days are free; a longer stay is charged from its first day. Outside rabbits stay out because RHDV2 is in Arizona's wild rabbits.
The long answers, with the reasons, are in the questions on the front page.
Your details
What I get is what you type. Your name, an email address, a phone number if you give one, and your message. If you text or call, your number. No account, and no cookies from me. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, counts visits with a script of its own, Cloudflare Web Analytics; by Cloudflare's own description (opens in a new tab) it sets no cookie and does not follow you to other sites. I also count, as totals only, which buttons on the site get tapped and how far each page is scrolled: no cookie, no ID, nothing that says who you are, and my count leaves out any browser that asks not to be tracked.
The form and the waitlist go through Formspree to my email. Formspree (formspree.io) delivers them to me. The waitlist also keeps your address on the site's host, Cloudflare, with the litters you picked and what you asked me to send, so you are counted once and hear about those litters.
I use it to answer you, and for nothing else. A waitlist address gets what it asked for: an email the day a litter it picked goes on sale and, if it asked for every update, that litter's new photos. I don't sell, share or pass on anyone's details, and there is no mailing list you didn't ask for.
Your words or a photo of your rabbit appear here only with your permission. If you send one and later want it gone, it goes.
To be taken off anything, text or email me. I delete what I have and take you off the waitlist.
